Documentary

This is my documentary of my cover on bizarre love triangle by new order.

DRUMS

the drums were from the Yamaha RX-11 I couldnt tell where the open hats were but it was from the Linn drum. The gunshots sample where however was unknown as well. I couldnt find the source for it but another bizarre love triangle remake video showed the gunshots. It was in logic pro. At the chorus part, i noticed some claps. They looked similar to the ones in Blue monday.

STRINGS

Upon reading and article about the production of the music. The strings were bkwrd low strings from the emulator II.

PADS

These pads were from The emulator II. The pattern was a bit confusing, but i managed to figure out the chords. It was like gminor bbmaj ebmaj gminor again and then on the second part it was bbmaj fmaj gminor then a higher g then a bbmaj. A bit confusing

BANJO

The banjo was from the DX7. I wasnt too sure about this is the right plugin or not.

BASS

The bass in the dx7 that arturia made didnt sound like it. I had to browse some samples but then i gave up and decided to use that bass. That bass was very unique. A-ha used it the same. The bass pattern isnt what you seem also. It is diffrent but alot similar like what you think. On the chorus part. The Bb part was in a higher octave while the other part of the bass was in a lower octave.

HOOKY BASS

Mkaymufc makes alot of New order Fl studio videos (this is where i started myself to make music so shoutouts to him :)) he showed that peter hooks bass guitar sounds like fl slayer. In his videos he modifies it with guitar rig but in this documentary i modified it with Fl chorus. On the percussion break there was a fret noise going from C (slide) to Eb

CHORD SEQUENCE

On the prechorus, theres the string arp and the chord sequence. The chord sequence was like a plucky high octave sound. I used a sample from the voyettra 3.

AHHS

On the 2nd chorus (not the end) i can hear some Ahhs. These werent from the Emulator II vst. I couldnt find them. Instead i used Refx Nexus.

PERCUSSION BREAK

Upon reading something on reddit. They used a korg ddm20. The zaps however were from (what sounds like) a midi preset. The entire break was simple but sounding complex.

ORCHESTRA HIT

Its pretty simple. Emulator II orchestra hit playing Bb (with a lower octave)

BELLS

When i first looked at the multitrack at the song. I first noticed an “electric fm” kinda piano. I compared it with sytrus fm rhodes preset. It sounded pretty close. Since i cant find the source for it, why not use it?

PLUCKS

Again i used Sytrus for this. Theres not much to say here because i cant find the synths they used here. Was probably a minimoog.
